Welcome to Year 2

Mrs Rosell-Hughes, Mrs Ejgierd-Waring and Miss Hooker are the class teachers in Year 2. Mrs Coates will work across both classrooms and Mrs Dilworth will work in 2PF.

• Goldilocks and the Three Crocodiles – by Micheal Rosen
• Speak Up! – by Nathan Bryon
• Billy and the Beast – by Nadia Shireen
• Grimwood – by Nadia Shireen

Important information for Year 2:

• Children will be take home a book selected by themselves and the class teacher suitable for their age group and a library book. If your child is having phonics lessons they will have a book matched to their phonic ability.
• Please read and share stories with your child daily to encourage their love of reading and give them the practice needed to become confident readers. Each time your child reads at home, please comment in your child’s Reading Record.
• This term we will visit the school library every week so please remember to have your library book in your school bag. 
• Home Learning is sent home on a Wednesday, due for the following Monday.
• Spellings are sent home on a Wednesday and will be tested each Wednesday so please ensure your Spelling book is in your bag for this.
• PE kit should be in school every day. They will be sent home at the end of each half term to be washed and then returned the following half term
